BRAND & CONCEPT

Blackforest is a sub-brand developed as part of Falena’s rebranding. A Jazz Kissa nestled in the bookstore’s underground level: an intimate space designed for deep listening and slow delight. Every Wednesday night, a Vinyl Selector shared a curated session, playing records live for a gathered audience, while the house served wine, aperitifs, and Japanese whisky. Inspired by the magic of this subterranean ritual, we created a brand identity in brown—the mother brand’s color—paired with dusty black. With nods to vintage vinyl labels, the layouts and graphics evoke its analog spirit. A photograph from the venue’s wall served as a textured backdrop, anchoring the identity in place. Blackforest closed its doors this year along with Falena, but it lives on in our memory—in the magic moments we shared there, in the joy we found in shaping its visual world.
